Our History

For decades, the John Birch Society hosted youth camps nationwide, providing young Americans with a strong foundation in history, civics, and the U.S. Constitution. These camps were more than summer gatherings; they were places where freedom was celebrated, patriotism was encouraged, and lessons were taught that have long disappeared from public school classrooms.

Although the JBS Youth Camp program was discontinued in 2008, its impact has never faded. Many of those who attended, along with parents who sent their children, have carried the experience forward into their own lives. Today, that legacy has inspired a new effort.

Rocky Mountain Freedom Camp (RMFC) was founded by members and friends of the John Birch Society who wanted to revive the spirit of those camps for the next generation. While RMFC is not an official program of the John Birch Society, it is organized and supported by current JBS members and representatives who share the same commitment to liberty.

At RMFC, students entering grades 8th through 12th will hear from nationally recognized educators, speakers, and leaders who are passionate about equipping America’s youth with timeless truths. Campers will learn the principles of the U.S. Constitution, study real history, and gain civic knowledge essential to responsible citizenship.

But this is more than just a classroom experience. Campers will also enjoy the outdoors, build friendships, work as teams, and participate in activities that strengthen both mind and character. The goal is simple: to raise up future leaders who understand freedom, cherish America’s founding principles, and are ready to keep our nation strong and united.
